1. Climate Literacy Fellowship Opportunity in the Caribbean

We are seeking an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Fellow for the USDA Caribbean Climate Hub. ORISE works to recruit and prepare the next generation of our nation’s scientific workforce. The Caribbean Climate Hub develops science-based, region-specific information and technologies, and shares products with natural resource managers to enable climate-smart decisions.

This fellowship will offer the opportunity to collaborate with our team to increase the level of climate-smart decision-making by farmers, ranchers, forest land managers, and the people and agencies that provide advice, technical expertise, and incentives. This fellowship offers excellent experience and exposure to a federal career in climate change. Applicants should have completed a master’s or doctoral degree in the past 5 years. The stipend will be roughly equivalent to a federal GS-7 pay level. This position is located in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico with some travel required. 2. Fellowship Opportunity Assessing Climate Change, Forest Management, and Forest Products in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands

We are seeking an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Fellow for the USDA Caribbean Climate Hub. ORISE works to recruit and prepare the next generation of our nation’s scientific workforce. The Caribbean Climate Hub develops science-based, region-specific information and technologies, and shares products with natural resource managers to enable climate-smart decisions.

This Postdoctoral Research Fellowship will offer the opportunity to collaborate with our team to assess forest management scenarios and carbon sequestration benefits and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and science communications. This fellowship offers excellent experience and exposure to a federal career in climate change. Applicants should have completed a doctoral degree in the past 3 years. The stipend will be roughly equivalent to a federal GS-12 pay level. This position is preferably based in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, though fully remote work is an option.
